Bonnie Ross leads a video game studio that creates Halo. She and her team use math and coding to build new worlds in the games they craft. Their games feature a diverse cast of characters that bring the Halo universe to life.

Growing up, Bonnie loved science fiction. She enjoyed watching sci-fi shows and reading books, imagining what it would be like to create these amazing worlds herself. In high school, Bonnie’s dad encouraged her to take math and science classes to build on her interests.

After graduation, Bonnie got a job at Microsoft. Since she knew a lot about sports from playing basketball in high school, she had the opportunity to work on one of Microsoft’s first basketball video games. She then realized that her passion for gaming and wanted to make a career out of it.

Bonnie got the opportunity to lead the video game franchise, Halo, and her studio has developed Halo 4 and all Halo games beyond. Bonnie and her team also oversee the creation of Halo books, comics, TV shows, toys and apparel.


Bonnie wants girls to imagine how they can make amazing worlds come to life through technology.
